Audio cutter
Trim voice messages, songs and recordings, cut a part out or pull the sound from a video – with fade in and out, right in your browser.
How it works
Choose a file
Drop or tap an audio or video file: MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, MP4, MOV, WebM – anything your browser can play.
Set the part
Drag the handles in the waveform or type start and end. Choose whether the part stays or is cut out, and listen to the result.
Save
Fade in and out, even out the volume, mono – then save as WAV (lossless) or Opus (small).
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?+
No. The file is read, cut and saved again in your browser. No server sees it – even private recordings stay on your device.
Which formats go in and out?+
In goes anything your browser can play: MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG/Opus, FLAC and the sound of MP4, MOV and WebM videos. Out comes WAV (lossless, plays everywhere) or Opus in an .ogg file (much smaller, plays in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Android and VLC). The browser cannot write MP3 itself – for older devices WAV is the safe choice.
How do I cut out a part in the middle?+
Mark the part and choose “remove”. The rest is joined seamlessly, the joint gets a 5 ms crossfade so it does not click. “Listen” starts shortly before the cut.
What does “even out volume” do?+
The result is made louder or quieter so that the loudest point sits at −1 dB – quiet recordings get louder without clipping. The balance between loud and quiet stays the same.
Can I save the sound of a video?+
Yes. Load the video – the tool only reads the sound track. Save all of it or just a part as WAV or Opus. Videos without sound or with a sound format your browser does not know do not work.
Is there a length limit?+
While cutting, the whole recording is kept in memory. On a computer an hour and more works; on a phone very long recordings may fail – a computer helps then.
